Ok, here's my original post:

Can someone please tell me if or which stock harley davidson pipe will fit on my '98 savage?

What I actually meant was muffler/silencer, not pipe but anyway...

Here is the suggestion that I followed:

Call J.C. Whitney at 1-800-853-4227 and order: 1) AAE028539X...................$26.98 2) AAE013521A...................$14.98 3) AAE021864W................... $3.29 1) is a 16" muffler that fits Savage pipe perfect using original foil like shims. 2) is a 7" heatshield that covers clamp between muffler and head pipe....discard big stock shield. 3) is a 6" pre-drilled chrome bracket that you have to bend in a Z-shape to bolt from muffler bracket to threaded bolt hole in frame after removing large stock muffler bracket from under swingarm. You must put on 4 locknuts on 4 bolts that held bracket on. Your bike will now be over 20 lbs. lighter and it looks almost like a drag pipe but not that loud.

Well, that muffler does NOT work on a '98 Savage. I didn't want anyone else to try and order it. I hope to return it, although I tried like hell to get it to work, a few scratches, sweat, tears and choice words later...no such luck! I have now placed an order through the dealership for an aftermarket Jardine, slash cut, for about half the cost of a stock. Hopefully five minutes of my time and a few twists of a screwdriver and I don't have to watch another pretty day go by....Happy Riding Guys!!!
